Community Cardiopulmonary Resuscutation CPR and First Aid Training 心肺復甦和急救培訓
This first of its kind Chinese language CPR/First Aid training program targeting immigrant workers who seek employment in child care centers, family day care and home health, where CPR certification is mandatory, as well as in construction and general Chinese community.
Chinese Women's Cancer Support Program 中國婦女癌症支援小組
A ground-breaking national program targeting monolingual Chinese women with cancer, integrating East-West, focusing in mind-body-spirit healing modalities. Over years, memebers in the group created two Chinese Cancer Quits and "Our Stories" publication which feature 24 cancer stories of Chinese women.
Chinese Breast Cancer Support Group 中國乳腺癌支援小組
Through this experimental, interactive and self empowering group process, participants explore the impact of breast cancer on self & family, understanding and mange emotions, thoughts & beliefs, master effective comminication skills, develop and enhance self-care skills. Partnering with ACS Look Good Feel Better Skin Care Workshop to provide wig fitting and skin care services.
Breast Cancer Survivors as Advocates Program 乳腺癌倖存者作為倡導者計劃
Partner with SFGH Avon Breast Health Program and American Caner Society. Chinese speaking cancer survivors were recruited and trained to be cancer advocates, focusing on personal and community capacity building; as well as media and legislative advocacy. Cancer advocates were engaged in outreach and cancer advocacy activities.
Dr Play Children's Support Group 兒童的支援小組
This unique support group helps Chinese children whose mothers have cancer cope with their emotional pain and vulnerability. Use of art, play therapy and sand therapy helped children better express psychological issues that mend and foster improved parent-child relationships and school performace. Group meets at the same time as the women's cancer support group.
Chinatown Acupuncture and Smoking Cessation Project 唐人街針灸戒菸項目
Partner with DPH Tobacco Free Project to offer culturally- apprpriate methods to promote smoking cessation and reduce passive smoking exposure. Smokers received individual counseling, group intervention, acupuncture treatments and telephone follow-up support. Enrolled smoking cessation program participants received nicotine patches based on health insurance coverage.
